MEET JENNIFER

"I am passionate about teaching people how to use a combination of DBT self-help skills to tackle complex, yet everyday life issues." - Jennifer Wu
DBT Daily worksheets were created by Jennifer Wu, LCSW, an intensively trained DBT therapist. She has been leading DBT Skills groups in private practice for 15 years. Through this experience, she has had the privilege of seeing so many clients retrain the brain, grow in emotional health and relationships, and learn new ways to cope with triggers and intense emotions.
DBT Daily's topics were inspired by Jennifer's work with her own clients whom she interacts with in group. Due to being in DBT Skills groups almost ten hours a week, she listened closely to the common every day struggles clients continued to bring up in group and made her worksheets around these themes. After developing her own curriculum and leading her DBT Advanced Groups for over five years and seeing the continual growth clients made in retraining the brain, she began to see the key components that helped clients gain success in this. Her DBT Daily worksheets incorporate these key components to help retrain the brain and be more effective in relationships (i.e. learning from client stories, specific application questions, modeling of how to use a combination of DBT skills).
In her private practice, Jennifer leads several DBT Skills groups and ten DBT Advanced groups (where she utilizes her DBT Daily Worksheets). Her constant interactions with clients at all stages of treatment gives her a wide range of knowledge and understanding about common issues people are struggling with and how to use DBT coping skills to make long-lasting progress. Jennifer is a member of DBT Associates of Austin since 2007, the first established DBT consultation team in the city.
